Scout Troop 498 July Update

This July, Scout Troop 498 explored Philmont’s 140,000 acres of wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. Over seven days, they hiked 78 miles, gained 7,700 feet of elevation, summited four peaks, discovered a crashed B-24 Liberator, climbed spar poles, and restored native wetlands as part of a conservation project. They also earned their 50-Miler Award, Duty to God Award, and Wilderness Pledge Award. Later in the month, 11 Scouts earned their Swimming Merit Badge. Through outdoor adventures, community service, and skillbuilding, our Scouts grow into compassionate, confident leaders who make a difference in San Antonio. From mastering survival skills to forging lifelong friendships, Troop 498 is where youth thrive! Ready to Join the Adventure This Fall?
